Winning Plant Combinations in a Container!
by Lindie Wilson
The twenty-inch terra cotta container pictured here was planted in early November, and sited in a location where it received warm afternoon sun. The pansy used in the container was ‘Matrix Morphus’, a new introduction in 2007, and very similar to the ‘Ultra Morpho’ Pansy I have used in the past. While both pansies are beautiful, I believe the performance of ‘Matrix Morphus’ was superior. I used five pansy plants in this container.
Eight Tulupa ‘Pink Impression’ were also planted in the container, along with variegated green and white ivy. It has been my experience that the variegated green and white ivy seems to hold up better during the winter than the yellow and white variety.
Euphorbia ‘Helena’s Blush’ was also included in the planting.
